You meet your counsellor in a safe and confidential environment, and it's there that you explore whatever emotional problems or life situations you may be wishing to change. You will be listened to skilfully, and you will not be judged or given advice.  Gently, you will be encouraged to talk through your thoughts and feelings.

The request for counselling may come directly from you, or be a referral via a GP, social worker, CMHT, psychologist, CPN etc.

All our practising Counsellors are professionally trained, qualified and members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). They are all committed to BACP's  Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling, and are professionally supervised and insured.

SACA is unique in that

All of our Counsellors have experienced childhood sexual abuse.
We work with male and female adults, adolescents and children.

We can meet with the client in their own locality if that is required.

Fees

We make a charge for our service of £40 per session and £44 per hour for a referral via statutory services.

Most of us also have a sliding scale of charges for those on low income or benefits, with a minimum charge of £15 per session.

Side by Side with other Agencies

Saca is acutely aware of the need for appropriate expertise, and works cooperatively with other agencies and professionals.  For example, a client may need another therapy that is different to counselling. Saca will support the client's choice to do what they feel is in their best interest.

Making an Appointment

Please call  or email us to arrange a your session. This can be arranged to suit you, at a place that is convenient for you and your counsellor. This may be in a school, a GP surgery, Children Schools and Families office, CMHT's premises, or the counsellor's own therapy room if this is appropriate.
